What's new for 2011!

Book your place now for a workshop in BELFAST. Coming up in February, book directly from the CLASSES option on the Menu. Also coming up in February are classes in Nottingham, only a few places available in that class so don't hang around too long if you want to join in.

New Jersey classes are now open for registration. Search the workshops on the new Calendar of Events on the Menu and you will see the link to register. New Jersey classes can be booked direct from my website. All the info with links to the appropriate pages are on my Calendar of Events for you. I hope that makes things easier!

My Online Tutorials continue to be a great success. I am often asked about writing a book and I do consider it along with all the options on how to go about it. My problem is that I wouldn't have all of the control over a book unless I published it myself, and even then, the projects would not be in such great detail which is why my Online Tutorials are so popular in the first place. I like the fact that I am known for this method of teaching and it's popularity. I will continue to create my tutorials until the world tires of them. A book might be a consideration later down the line...but just not yet. More projects are in the planning stages so please be patient with me. I need to prioritise my time to get the best things done and with all the travelling around to show you in person how to be creative with sugar, time is something I just don't have in abundance. However, I am working on it!

  1. Hi Aine - met you today at NEC and I did say thank you to you for your excellent Youtube tutorials and for showing how to make a baby head (eyes closed - and you explained how to make a drunk man too!) I am sure you will have hundreds of emails this weekend. Just wanted to once again say thank you - I have been making cakes for getting on 30 years, but tried my first characters after seeing your tutorials. Have now armed myself with your wee stylus set and got my IKEA mat so I'm ready to get started!!!!! Thank you again, I hope the show is a great success for you. Best Wishes. Vicki aka The Cake Whisk

  2. Oh my Lord. These are amazing and I just wish you would come visit South Africa and show me how to do half the stuff. Being a Scot I just loved the tartan grooms, but everything is so amazing

  8. Wow Lorraine thank you for such a fantabulous class in London. I learned so much about sugarpaste modelling, and had a great time too! Met loads of like minded cakey people AND got a night away from cooking dinner by staying in a swanky hotel! Hee hee.. perfect! Thanks again... it was an absolute inspiration to be taught by you! xxxx

  12. Hi Lorraine
If you wanted to produce a book and retain complete control over it then you could use www.blurb.com to produce it. I have used them to produce several books and have been really pleased with the quality - it is very professional.

(Posted on 2011-02-25 23:01:00 by byssent)
  15. 16. I'll be in L.A. in March...those classes are posted on Dates 4 You and are booking now. There are no plans for a Bride and Groom tutorial...the hands on classes are ongoing in every area possible right now. Posting tools overseas caused too many problems which meant I was resending more than originally posting! Not good business so it had to end. The tools can be found in Michaels stores in the US too though.

  21. Hi Lorraine,
Any plan for a workshop in Sydney, Australia?

(Posted on 2010-12-09 06:08:00 by Eliza)
  22. There will very possibly be a DVD available for sale in the future on how to make the Bride and Groom but it is not in the immediate plans. It will happen...just can't say for certain when.

    (Posted on 2010-10-25 14:14:00 by aine2)
  23. My sister and I are wondering that you will video on bride and groom in the future? Because it is very useful to visual and practical for deaf people than reading and explaining with pictures.

  24. I may not have any Scottish dates available for 2011, it all depends on the final confirmation of all the workshops I've booked in other areas....I don't think I have much time left! Oops! However, I am in the midst of planning the London classes for next year and there are two online for booking at the moment. The others will follow shortly, I need to create the class subject for April before I can headline the others. So hopefully see you in one of them! Cheers!

    (Posted on 2010-08-30 19:18:00 by aine2)
  25. Lorraine, I'm too slow to book in any of your Scottish or London courses! Everytime I find a new one, its already book! Boohoo to me...

Do you have any more Scottish tutorials soon? If so, when are you uploading the info? I live in Montrose, so not long to travel. I wouldnt mind travelling to London for one of your classes as well, but alas, you said thats all for 2010. Oh well, I need to be quick for 2011!

Hope you have some good news for good old me soon. Thanks a lot!

    Grace

p.s. I just bought 3 of your online tutorials a minute ago - cant wait to get hold of the instructions!

  28. Arlene...I don't have the time available to commit to wedding cakes any more. I am travelling so much next year that it would be impossible. I took the decision to concentrate on the workshops and writing as doing both was too demanding. Sorry. :o(

    (Posted on 2010-07-09 18:36:00 by aine2)
  29. Lorraine - do you still make wedding cakes??
