Edible Glue

You will need:

CMC gum powder
warm water
clean container with lid
cocktail stick

Into a container put one quarter teaspoon of powder and add 2 tablespoons of warm water. Stir with a cocktail stick. At this point, the powder will appear not to blend with the water and will look very lumpy. Place the lid onto the container and leave overnight in the fridge. In the morning your glue will be perfectly clear and ready to use. The consistency should be like syrup. If the glue is too thick, simply add more warm water a little at a time and stir until the correct consistency is reached.

The glue should be kept in the fridge when not in use and changed weekly.

How to make Modelling Paste

1 teaspoon CMC
500g sugarpaste

Knead the sugarpaste until warm. Sprinkle the CMC powder onto your work board and knead the sugarpaste over it until all of the powder has incorporated.

To store: Roll the paste into a long sausage and cut into approximately 8 pieces. Wrap individually in cling film and store the pieces in a self sealing plastic bag until ready for use.
